Hey guys and girls,

I have been so busy that my blog got rusted. But here I am again! Just in case you might not know, I am now an insider of Dermalogica so expecting my review on their products shortly.
I have recently advised alot of my clients on how to care for their skins and what products to choose from. One of the most common sympton that young women face nowaday is acne!!! I will write another post about what products to use, but firstly I want to explain where acne come from and how can you cure acne natually. I think this is way more important than rushing yourself into a skin clinic or department store and ask them to give you some magic. Unfortunately, trust me, there is no magic with acne.
Understanding why you have acne may help you prevent them in a correct way. If you have acne/breackout on your chin area, this is more likely caused by hormones change or bad diet (i.e. too much alcohol, too much spicy food, not enough vegetable, etc). If you have acne on your forhead, your bladder might not function properly or simply caused by eccessive use of hair products (hair spray, hair gel without a good wash can cause real damage to your skin). If you have acne on your side face, you might not believe me, but it may be caused by your mobile phone. If you have acne on your cheeks, you might have lung problem. If you have rosacea all over your face (some people even have pimples all over their neck, ears, scalp, chest, etc), it may caused by stress, anxiety, critical weather (too hot, too cold or suddenly change in temperature), strenuous exercise, heat from sunlight, severe sunburnt, diet (too much alcohol, too much caffein, spicy food, foods high in histamines, etc), wrong type of skincare products or treatment.
A survey by the National Rosacea Society of 1,066 rosacea patients showed which factors affect the most people:
- Sun exposure 81%
- Emotional stress 79%
- Hot weather 75%
- Wind 57%
- Heavy exercise 56%
- Alcohol consumption 52%
- Hot baths 51%
- Cold weather 46%
- Spicy foods 45%
- Humidity 44%
- Indoor heat 41%
- Certain skin-care products 41%
- Heated beverages 36%
- Certain cosmetics 27%
- Medications (specifically stimulants) 15%
- Medical conditions 15%
- Certain fruits 13%
- Marinated meats 10%
- Certain vegetables 9%
- Dairy products 8%
Obviously, you can not make your acne go away overnight with some magic cream people always try to sell to you, but with a good skincare products plus your strict skincare discipline, you can always control it. Some of my tips to cure acne naturally:
- Ensure a right nutritional diet, keep your 5-a-day (vegetable and fruits), reduce the amount of alcohol and cigarette. Drink non-caffeine tea/coffee.
- If you use make up products, make sure you remove them properly before sleeping. If you have severe acne, try to not use make up or very little make up in a very short period of time.
- Wash your face at least twice a day followed by a strict skincare regime that your therapist set out for you. You need to be patient as even some of the best acne treatment products out there still need at least 6-8 weeks to show results.
- Face Protector Suncream of at least 30SPF is a MUST. I can’t stress enough but look at the survey, 81% of acne caused by sun damage. The sun (regardless how strong, even on a rainy day) emits ultraviolet radiation that can trigger rosacea quicker than you think.
- Keep your hair off your face – If you have long hair or bangs, pull your hair off your face. Your hair contains oils as well, and will contribute to your breakouts. You’ll also want to wash your hair everyday and after workouts.
- Do not pick or squeeze your blackheads and pimples. I know this temptation is really high but squeezzing your pimples will scratch your skin and increase the sebum production. Plus, when you squeeze, you are actually rupturing the membranes below your skin, causing infection and sebum to spread underneath your skin. The result is more pimples.
- Change your pillow case every other day. You may not know but when you sleep, your pillow case absorbs the oils from your skin and reapplies the dirt and oil. Thus causing breakouts.
So there you are, some of my simple tips to help you heal your acne naturally. You should notice a difference in about …4 weeks.
Until next time,
